ABOUT ME
Hello, welcome and thank you for spending time browsing my site. My foray into photography was around 1979 when I purchased a Fujica SLR, associated lenses and a bunch of accessories. I felt so empowered with this set of gear and went about shooting pretty much everything that caught my eye. Over time, I found myself hanging out at camera stores, drooling over Nikon equipment and eventually, just before leaving on a round-the-world trip in 1988, I bought a Nikon FE2 body and 2 lenses.
I lugged both sets of (Fujica > Nikon) gear, lenses and 75 cans of slide film in a heavy camera bag all over Europe, the UK and the USA. I was not popular going through customs in most countries as I refused to put my film through x-ray scanners and insisted on customs agents hand checking each can of film. That stress was well worth it as on my return, the processed slide film revealed thousands of magnificent pictures. My Nikon FE2 and lenses were stolen a couple of years later and I replaced the stolen gear with a Nikon F4 body and the same lenses. I still have the F4 in my cabinet. It works just fine and I will never sell it.
I've been making pictures for well over 35 years, covering weddings, family > friends, public events, commercial engagements and sports. Many of the latter years have been dedicated to sports and I have worked for international photographic agencies and held national media credentials in many professional sports played in Australia as well as NCAA College sport here in the USA.
I guess you could say I'm passionate about photography and it's this passion that continues to drive and motivate me to make exceptional images; images that tell a story, a story that unfolds at first glance.
My wife is a "local". Her family are in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. My wife and I met in Melbourne, Australia, married and have 5 children. My wife developed a decent Aussie accent and even got to like Vegemite on toast (it's an Aussie staple). Her Aussie accent has worn off somewhat since we all emigrated to the USA in 2013. We lived in McMurry (Peters Twp) for a year and we're now based in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I continue to offer my services in the sporting field as well as portraiture, headshots and High School Senior photography. The picturesque landscape of Pennsylvania and the contrasting "grunge" appeal of Pittsburgh's bygone steel city imagery is a photographers playground.
I have access to suppliers within the photographic industry that can provide almost any product that you can imagine. If you've read this far, I know that, most importantly, you're looking to capture memories that look exceptional and reflect who you or your loved ones are.
Feel confident that when we meet, we have started our relationship with the same objective. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you achieve the most cherished memories we have the power to create.
